Students of Class 6 section D at Apeejay School, Pitampura, organised a special assembly highlighting the importance of mental health awareness and emotional well-being. The programme, held in connection with World Mental Health Day, used poetry, mime, a talk show and a dance drama to encourage students to recognise the importance of a healthy mind and supportive relationships.
The assembly centred on the message that emotional well-being is an essential part of a happy and fulfilling life. Through a series of creative presentations, the Apeejay students explored themes of kindness, empathy and emotional resilience, drawing attention to the need to understand and acknowledge mental health concerns.

A thought-provoking poem formed part of the programme, encouraging reflection on the significance of mental well-being. This was followed by a mime performance that conveyed a powerful message about mental health awareness through expressions and gestures. The presentation offered students an opportunity to communicate the importance of emotional understanding without relying on spoken words.
An engaging emoji-based talk show added an interactive element to the assembly. Using familiar emojis as a point of discussion, the students explored ways of expressing emotions and communicating feelings. The presentation highlighted how recognising and understanding emotions can contribute to healthier interactions and greater empathy among peers.

The assembly also featured a well-coordinated dance drama, combining movement and storytelling to reinforce the programme’s central message. Through their performances, the students demonstrated confidence, creativity and teamwork while addressing a subject that remains important to the well-being of young people.
Principal Ms Veena Goel appreciated the students’ efforts and commended them for their thoughtful presentations and impactful message. Their participation reflected the role of school assemblies in creating opportunities for students to engage with important social and personal themes beyond the classroom.

The assembly sought to reinforce the idea that emotional well-being deserves attention and understanding, just as physical health does. By presenting the message through multiple forms of expression, Class 6 D made the programme accessible and engaging for the school community.
