Recently, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, organised an enriching and thought-provoking session on Parents-Teachers Partnership for the Holistic Development of the Child, led by Principal Mr Yashpal Sharma. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from parents and students, creating a meaningful platform for dialogue, reflection, and collaboration.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal highlighted the evolving challenges faced by students in today’s fast-paced world, including academic pressure, time management issues, digital distractions, and concerns related to emotional wellbeing. Emphasising the importance of a strong support system, he shared practical strategies that parents can adopt at home to nurture their children’s overall growth. These included establishing consistent routines, encouraging open communication, fostering emotional resilience, and maintaining a healthy balance between screen time and other activities.

He also outlined the school’s commitment to providing a safe, stimulating, and learner-centric environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. He stressed that the holistic development of students can be achieved most effectively when parents and educators work together as partners. Encouraging active parental involvement, he underscored the significance of regular communication, mutual trust, and shared responsibility in shaping a child’s future.
The interactive nature of the session allowed parents to raise questions, share concerns, and seek guidance on various aspects of parenting and education. The discussion was highly engaging and motivational, with parents expressing appreciation for the practical insights and thoughtful recommendations shared by the Principal. Participants welcomed the initiative and expressed interest in attending similar workshops in the future.

Following the session, parents attended the Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM), where they engaged in individual discussions with class and subject teachers regarding their children’s academic performance, behaviour, and emotional development. Teachers provided detailed feedback on each student’s progress, recognising strengths while also identifying specific areas requiring focused attention and support.
The PTM offered an opportunity for parents and teachers to collaboratively develop personalised action plans, incorporating strategies discussed during the Principal’s address. Conversations centred on creating balanced study schedules, setting realistic goals, promoting positive habits, and establishing healthy screen-time boundaries.
The programme concluded on a positive note, successfully reinforcing the importance of a strong parent–school partnership. By translating shared ideas into actionable goals, the session and PTM together laid a strong foundation for continued collaboration in nurturing confident, responsible, and well-rounded learners.
