S&P Global conducts “Campus Connect Programme” at Apeejay School of Management

Every business school is on the endeavour to create a platform for students to connect and collaborate with industry professionals. The aim is to upskill students by providing them a unique set of learning aids and initiatives. One such initiative is the “Campus Connect Programme”, that helps in nurturing future-ready talents. This holistic approach of learning not just allows aspiring professionals to enhance their leadership and communication skills, but also prepares them to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the dynamic job market with ease. 

Aligned with this perspective, Apeejay School of Management invited S&P Global, a leading organisation in financial information and analytics, for their Campus Connect Programme. This intriguing session commenced with a talk delivered by Ms Sarita Gulati, the Director of MI at S&P Global. A seasoned operations professional with over two decades of experience in the fintech industry, Ms Gulati provided a comprehensive overview of S&P Global, mission, and vision while highlighting its national and international operations. She also delved into the company’s diverse divisions, which offer critical financial information, analytics, and insights to clients worldwide. She further discussed how S&P Global is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce with the help of various People Resource Groups (PRGs) to support the acquisition, engagement and development of diverse talent.

The next session was delivered by Ms Nupur Mehrotra, a Senior Manager in Market Intelligence. She has been an integral part of the S&P Global team for 16 years, serving in various capacities, from data management to people management. Ms Mehrotra addressed the audience with her extensive experience as a research analyst within the financial services industry. Her presentation was a deep dive into the core competencies of S&P Global, focusing on data analysis, business strategies, and financial analysis. Ms Mehrotra underlined S&P Global’s proficiency in harnessing their rich and expansive database to assist clients effectively.

Mr Sagar Agarwal, a Senior Manager overseeing the Corporate Profiles Data Division at S&P Global Market Intelligence was the key person for the third session. With a career spanning over 16 years in the data industry, he champions the principles of six sigma and Lean methodologies to drive efficiency and quality. Mr Agarwal’s focal point during his presentation was the transformative potential of technology and  artificial intelligence within S&P Global’s diverse database. He elaborated on how these advanced tools could streamline processes and enhance customer experiences. By leveraging technology and AI, S&P Global aims to provide clients with even more efficient and data-driven solutions, reaffirming their commitment to innovation and excellence in the financial services sector.

The participants also got the opportunity to attend a talk from Ms Shivani Seth, a Senior Campus Recruiter at S&P Global. With eight years of experience in both business and HR, Shivani brings a unique perspective to campus recruitment and HR strategy. 

In a nutshell, the session was guided by seasoned S&P Global experts who generously imparted their insights and  knowledge to the students. It was an invaluable learning opportunity, offering a comprehensive understanding of industry operations and the burgeoning fields that hold promise for future careers.
