Pre-primary students pull off quirky, innovative looks at inter-school fancy dress competition

In one of the rounds, children wore costumes made of recycled waste material

At Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park’s Minerva carnival, pre-primary students participated in huge numbers in a fun inter-school fancy dress competition. Dressed in bright and colourful attire, the young boys and girls posed confidently on stage, leaving the audience impressed.

SM Mahajan, executive director (Retd), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd and president, Residents Welfare Association (RWA), Triveni Apartments, Delhi, graced the occasion. Among the other eminent guests were Dr Ruby Makhija, TEDx speaker, brand ambassador, Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Swachh Survekshan 2023, and RWA secretary, Navjeevan Vihar, Delhi, and Shefali Mittal, philanthropist and RWA secretary, Sarvodaya Enclave, Delhi.

The event, called ‘Metamorphosis’, had students between the ages of three and six in three separate categories. Participants in the age group of three and four dressed as their favourite Disney characters. Meanwhile, another group depicted the importance of the environment through unique costumes based on the theme: “Our Green Wonders”.

The theme for children in the age group of five to six was “My Nature My Future” for which they donned quirky costumes made out of waste material to promote the idea of sustainability.

Sandeep Singh Kathuria, principal, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, congratulated the enthusiastic tiny tots and shared a motivating speech while wishing them a prosperous and healthy year ahead.

The event was not only meant for children to have fun but to also enhance their creativity, imagination, and confidence.
