‘My visit to India Gate’: Short note by Aayansh Rai, Apeejay School, Kharghar

Before I start sharing my inspiring journey about my visit to India Gate, I would like to confess something. So before this visit I believed that India Gate and Gateway of India were names of the same monuments.

I realised my mistake during my visit to India Gate. The India Gate is located in New Delhi and was made to honour the brave Indian soldiers. The names of  soldiers who sacrificed their lives fighting for the nation are inscribed over it. Friends near the India Gate is the ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’ where a rifle and war helmet is kept in an upside down position to pay homage to our brave soldiers. A nonstop flame burns in the middle of it. I was so impressed by seeing this that I saluted the Amar Jawan Jyoti to pay my respects.
