‘My son is exceptionally attached to the teacher at this school’

Kids at primary level school often take their sweet time to adjust to the school environment. Their learning and development during this period holds a significant value for the later years of their life. However, there are parents like Shweta Sharma, mother of Abhinav Sharma, a KG student at Apeejay International School, Greater Noida states that her son could adjust to the school curriculum well only due to the teachers’ exclusive efforts.

Excerpts from the interview. 

How did you select Apeejay for your son?

We zeroed down on Apeejay after looking through various schools in our area. Finally we made this choice because we realised it is the best school overall – both junior and senior sections have great facilities for children.

 What are the positive changes you noticed in your child?

The biggest improvement I noticed in my child is that he is always excited to go to school. He never threw any tantrums. My son has quickly adjusted to the school environment and even made friends in his class. Teachers have helped my son hone his reading and writing abilities. Moreover, they have groomed his overall personality so well that he is no longer hesitant to speak in public and with other people.  

Are the teachers easy to approach and helpful?

All his subject teachers including the class teacher are extremely easy to approach. They take utmost care in informing me about my son’s growth and will take extra care during any emergency, like my son falling sick suddenly. I have seen them on their toes all the time. if we have a query, they message back promptly. 

 What kind of techniques do teachers use at school?

In the beginning teachers were relying mostly on online teaching but recently they have introduced and distributed books on various subjects for my child. Those books have really helped my son understand a lot of concepts. It has become helpful for me also to help my son with his homework. My son enjoys solving Math problems but is slightly weak in Hindi, so when this was noticed by the teachers they asked us to focus more on the weak subject area mutually.

Is the school environment conducive for your child’s growth?

The school offers a perfect balance of academics and extracurricular activities. I have seen my son actively participating in all sports and dance activities that are organized by school regularly. My son is particularly fond of role play and fancy dress competitions organised by the school.

How regularly do you interact with your child and teachers?

I interact with my son daily about his performance after school. My son talks about his learnings everyday with so much enthusiasm. He expresses about his day spent at school with so much happiness and also shares about the activities along with the interactions he had with his classmates. He is particularly attached to his teacher.
