I can still vividly remember my first day at Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC) as if it was yesterday. I was sitting in the auditorium, surrounded by new faces, feeling a mix of excitement, and nostalgia. I now can’t believe that this chapter of my life was coming to an end when I returned home after spending my last day at the college.

On day one, all new students were instructed to report at the auditorium for orientation, and I was there, feeling a bit confused but hopeful that everything would be fine. Some students appeared confident and talkative, while others came with their parents or friends. I can’t express my gratitude enough to my mentors at AIMC, who helped me navigate the confusion and find my way.

During the breaks, I was unexpectedly invited to have lunch with a group of people, and soon, I found myself enjoying naan and sabji from a street vendor with new found friends. Later, we received a brief about our curriculum, and although I was still clueless about it, I nodded along. Overall, the day was confusing, but I was determined to put my best effort into my studies, inspired by the energy and confidence of my peers.

Fast forward to my last day at AIMC, I woke up with a bittersweet feeling. It was the day of our final exam, and I decided to wear my white shirt with the intention of getting it marked with wishes and love from my friends and faculty. As I reached the college, the air was filled with anticipation and excitement. We all knew that this day needed to be cherished and celebrated. We wanted to make this farewell memorable, not only for ourselves but also for our beloved mentors.

We marked the farewell by cutting a cake, playing music, enjoying snacks, and listening to a heartfelt speech from our faculty. Emotions ran high, and laughter mixed with teary-eyed as we stood together, united with joy in our hearts. The pride in the eyes of our professors was heart-warming, knowing they were genuinely happy for us. It was a moment of unity, celebrating the end of an era and the beginning of new adventures for each of us.

Throughout the day, my friends and I reminisced about our college days, recalling the ups and downs, the friendships forged, and the knowledge gained. We expressed our gratitude to our professors for their unwavering support and guidance, acknowledging the profound impact they had on shaping our futures. Later, we took a tour of the nearby streets, the same group of people I had lunch with on my first day.

AIMC transformed a confused boy into a confident marketing professional, teaching me valuable leadership and teamwork skills. With newfound confidence and excitement, I stepped into the next phase of life, cherishing the bonds I have created and looking forward to what the future had in store for me. AIMC will always hold a special place in my heart for the way it changed me for the better.
