In a symphony of creativity and thespian mastery, Apeejay School International (ASI), Panchsheel Park set the stage ablaze with an immersive theatre workshop that proved to be a transformative experience for Middle-Years-Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) students.

The echoes of Oscar Wilde’s profound sentiment, “I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms,” manifested as the school orchestrated a prelude to a forthcoming musical scheduled for December 16, 2023. The maestro behind this educational opus was none other than the distinguished actor, theatre practitioner, and scriptwriter, Mr Sagar Vashist, whose illustrious career cast a spell on the eager students.

Mr Vashist, a luminary in the performing arts realm, became the beacon for aspiring thespians during the seminar. His wealth of experience and nuanced understanding of the theatrical craft transformed the workshop into an invaluable masterclass. With an interactive teaching style that seamlessly blended wisdom and whimsy, Mr Vashist held the students in rapt attention, opening the curtains to a world of theatrical secrets and storytelling finesse.

Taking a hands-on approach, Mr Vashist immersed the students in a spectrum of theatre exercises and activities. From acting fundamentals to the intricacies of stage presence, voice modulation, and script analysis, the workshop became a comprehensive exploration of the multifaceted world of theatre. The students, under his tutelage, not only honed their craft but also discovered the transformative power of artistic expression.

A noteworthy facet of the workshop was the pivotal role played by Ms Vrinda, the recently appointed Language and Literature facilitator at ASI. With a background in Western Classical music and prior experience in theatre, Ms Vrinda seamlessly wove her expertise into the fabric of the workshop. Her dual proficiency added a unique layer to the students’ learning experience, creating a holistic artistic journey that transcended the ordinary.

The resounding success of the theatre workshop at ASI has set the stage for a much-anticipated musical. The collaborative synergy between Mr Sagar Vashist, Ms Vrinda, and Ms Nirmala, coupled with the enthusiastic participation of the students, promises a theatrical spectacle of unparalleled brilliance. This event stands as a testament to the school’s unwavering commitment to providing a holistic education that nurtures the artistic talents of its students.

As the curtain rises for the upcoming musical, the echoes of this transformative workshop are bound to reverberate, enriching the students’ performances and contributing to a theatrical production that will be etched in the annals of the school’s artistic legacy.
