The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is actively encouraging student participation in the advancement of space exploration by inviting ideas and designs for robotic rovers in upcoming missions. The UR Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) is set to organise the ‘ISRO Robotics Challenge, URSC-2024,’ providing students with a platform to contribute to space robotics. Registration for the challenge, along with proposal submissions, is open from November 20 to December 15 this year.

Following the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 Vikram on the lunar surface and the exploration near the moon’s southern pole, ISRO is now preparing for future robotic exploration missions to the moon and beyond.

Emphasising its commitment to fostering collaboration between academia and industry, the National Space Agency, headquartered in India, aims to create unique opportunities for technological development aligned with organisational objectives.
