International Conference on NEP sparks innovation and skill development

In a landmark initiative aimed at propelling postgraduate and undergraduate students towards a globally immersive educational experience, the School of Commerce and Management Studies at Sandip University, Nashik, in Maharashtra hosted an international conference titled National Education Policy: Driving the Nation towards Global and Immersive Experience. The two-day event, held on January 29-30, 2024, marked a significant stride in enhancing the research and publication skills of young scholars.

Assistant Professor Anuj Kumar from Apeejay School of Management graced the conference as the guest of honour, lending his expertise and insights to the aspiring minds gathered. The conference attracted notable speakers and guests of honour, including Dr Nishu Ayedee from Confab 360 Degree, Ms Beatrice Ngaunje, the Second Secretary-Education at the High Commission of Malawi in India, and Dr Deepanjal Shrestha from Pokhara University’s School of Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, Lekhnath, Pokhara, Nepal. Their participation underscored the event’s international stature and its commitment to fostering a collaborative educational ecosystem.

The conference’s focus on developing research writing skills among students and acquainting them with the National Education Policy (NEP) was evident in the diverse array of sessions and workshops curated for the attendees. The NEP, being a pivotal reform in the Indian educational landscape, aims at making education more holistic, flexible, multidisciplinary, aligned to the needs of the 21st century, and aimed at bringing out the unique capabilities of each student. This event served as a perfect platform for students to engage with the policy’s nuances and understand how it shapes their academic and professional future.

Assistant Professor Kumar shared his enthusiasm for the unique concept of the conference, highlighting the submission of eleven papers/abstracts by students from the Apeejay School of Management, Dwarka, Delhi. Professor Kumar remarked, “This is a unique conference; 11 papers/abstracts were submitted by Apeejay School of Management students.” He emphasised the event’s role in enhancing student research and publication skills, underscoring its importance for academic development.

The engagement and active participation of students from various educational backgrounds in submitting their research papers and abstracts demonstrated the event’s success in igniting a passion for research and innovation. The conference not only served as a testament to the collaborative efforts of academia and industry professionals in shaping the educational landscape but also highlighted the critical role of the National Education Policy in driving the nation towards a global and immersive learning experience.
