When Sandeep Chopade and Dr Swati Chopade were looking for a school for their child, Apeejay School, Nerul, stood out because of its excellent reputation for providing a balanced education. They wanted a school that would focus not only on academics but also on character building, discipline, and overall personality development.

“The school’s emphasis on values like respect, responsibility, and integrity aligned with what we wanted for our child. We also appreciated the nurturing environment, experienced faculty, and wide range of extracurricular opportunities. Looking back, choosing this school has been one of the best decisions, Dr Swati shared, whose son, Swaranjit, is studying here in Class V.

In a candid interview, she talks about the positive changes in her son and how her daughter is an alumna of this school as well.

How has your child’s experience at the school been so far?

Has had a wonderful experience. Every year has brought new opportunities to learn, grow, and become more confident. The school has created an environment where children feel encouraged to participate, ask questions, and discover their strengths. My child enjoys going to school and often speaks positively about the teachers and classmates. The learning experience has been engaging and enjoyable. We are extremely satisfied.

What positive changes have you noticed in your child since joining the school?

We have noticed the tremendous growth in our child’s confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills. Being selected as the Vikramshila House Prefect, Cultural Prefect, and class monitor for two consecutive years has been a proud achievement. We have also seen a stronger sense of commitment towards completing responsibilities. Most importantly, the school has instilled values like respect, kindness, and empathy.

How would you describe the support and guidance provided by the teachers?

The teachers are caring, approachable, and genuinely invested in each child’s growth and well-being. My child often tells us how clearly the teachers explain concepts and how patient they are while addressing doubts. They create a positive classroom environment. Beyond academics, they encourage students to develop confidence, good values, and a positive attitude. Their support is helping our child excel academically while also growing emotionally and socially.

Does the school offer enough opportunities for your child to explore interests beyond academics?

The school provides numerous opportunities through cultural events, leadership roles, competitions, sports, and various extracurricular activities. My child’s experience as both Yellow House Prefect and Cultural Prefect has been invaluable, teaching responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and time management.

How effectively does the school communicate with parents?

The teachers and school management keep us well informed about our child’s academic performance, participation in activities, and overall development. Parent-teacher meetings are meaningful and provide valuable insights into our child’s strengths as well as areas for improvement. Whenever required, the teachers are approachable and willing to discuss concerns or provide guidance. It gives us confidence that our child is receiving the attention and encouragement needed to succeed.

What aspect of Apeejay School, Nerul, do you value the most as a parent?

It is the school’s commitment to shaping responsible, respectful, and confident individuals. While academic excellence is important, the school equally emphasizes values, discipline, leadership, and character development. The caring teachers, supportive environment, and focus on holistic education make the school truly special.
