“Human values are so central to everything that I am.”
Human values are the basic values that reflect humanity and integrity. These are the key components of a person’s character. These are personality traits that guides people to make decisions and judgements according to their own sense of what is right and wrong, based on collective and individual experiences.
While, human values are essential in every stage of life, the values that are instilled in us since childhood form the fundamentals of any student’s life. It is said that students are the future of India, and this future of our country depends greatly upon the values imparted to them during their student life. Human values pave the path for all the decisions they make in life, as without these values, children do not have any guidance and their life may seem directionless. In order to be accepted and respected by society, parents and caregivers should make sure of imbibing these strong human values in children as a lifestyle itself.
“It is not a disgrace if dreams are unfulfilled, but it is if we have no dreams to dream. ” I am truly inspired by this captivating quote given by our eminent , loving Founder Chairman late Dr Stya Paul ji.
Though there are infinite invaluable lessons that we can learn from the life of Dr Satya Paul ji, but one lesson that I have learnt and that holds the true potential to give the optimistic direction to my life is to have strong ‘human values, proper aim and a vision in life’. I get a lot of motivation from the fact that despite being polio-stricken at the age of two, he overcame all his hardships to establish the long lasting legacy “APEEJAY STYA GROUP” which serves as an inspiration for the younger generation.
I have learnt from him that all the ills of the world can be combatted by the universal values of integrity, honesty and self-discipline. I am blessed to have great, supporting, highly optimistic parents and teachers in my life, who always try to instill, and inculcate human values in me.
As a result, I’m delighted to share that this year I have won the prestigious Dr Stya Paul award for human values. I’m very thankful to our respected Principal ma’am, Vice-Principal ma’am, all the panel of judges and the entire Apeejay Education for placing their trust in me. I’ve promised myself to keep up with my good work and continue with all my charitable endeavors till my last breath.
Being aware of values from an early age helps in developing our character and forming the very core of our being. A strong character development happens because of the virtues and values that we learn during our childhood, which remain as a sound foundation for our human beliefs in the future. I think that when a children do something good, they tend to feel good about themselves, which further motivates them, and gives them an ample amount of self-confidence.
This self-affirmation of being able to give back or help others, in return, boosts the self-confidence along with helping them develop positive feelings and positive relationships in their lives. Today’s students are the ones that will become tomorrow’s doctors, entrepreneurs, engineers, scientists, politicians, police, etc., and hold the most important positions that will either uplift or let down societies, communities, countries, and the world at large, based on the values that they possess.
Children are extremely good observers and they follow what they see, so it is by role modeling that you can pass on this priceless treasure of virtues to the children who will, in turn, pass it on to the coming generations , to ultimately make the world a better place.
