Honouring the Gurus at Apeejay Schools

Students of Apeejay School, Model Town and Rama Mandi in Jalandhar organise a special assembly on the occasion of Teacher’s Day

There is no doubt that being a teacher is one of the greatest gifts of life. Teaching is a noble profession. It deserves an equal amount of love and respect as any other profession in the world. Teachers’ Day in India is celebrated every year on September 5 to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was the former President of India, an erudite scholar, philosopher and also a Bharat Ratna recipient. As an educationist, he was an advocate of edification and was a distinguished academician and above all a great teacher. Teachers’ Day is a reminder of the role that teachers play in nation-building by guiding and educating the future minds of the country. 

The President of the Apeejay Education Society, Madam Sushma Paul Berlia congratulated the teachers of Apeejay School, Model Town on this joyous occasion. In her message, Madam President applauded the teachers for their excellent work despite facing various challenges and rising to the occasion every time.

A special assembly marking Teachers Day was organised by the students of the school. Tributes were paid to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan by Principal Mr. Malkiat Singh, Headmistress Ms.Namrata Sharma and staff and students alike. The student choir presented a melodious song appreciating the role a teacher plays in a person’s life. An enchanting dance performance by Aditya Veer Bawa and Divyansh students of class VI paid homage to all teachers.

While addressing the students and teachers, Mr.Malkiat Singh, Principal of the school mentioned, “As the common age goes, the future of a country lies in the hands of its children, and teachers as mentors can mould students into future leaders who will shape the destiny of India. Teachers play an important role in our lives by helping us become successful in our careers and business. They help us to become good human beings, a better member of society and an ideal citizen of the country.” He further added, “Teachers’ Day is celebrated to acknowledge the challenges, hardships, and special roles that teachers play in our lives. I congratulate all the teachers for their splendid efforts and appreciate the efforts put in by the students to honour their teachers.”

Under the tutelage of Principal Mrs. Sangeeta Nistandra, the Student Council of Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar celebrated Teachers’ day with great fervour and joy. The celebrations commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp which was followed by a delightful group and solo songs performed by students as a mark of dedication to their teachers.

Class 11 students had prepared a beautiful, memorable video for their teachers. It made every teacher nostalgic, emotional and endearing. Students regaled their mentors with breath taking performances and fun-filled games that brought out the hidden child in every educator.

Addressing students and staff alike, Principal Ms. Sangeeta Nistandra extended the greetings of teachers’ day to all the teachers in the school and applauded their tireless efforts behind the progress of each student. She also praised the efforts of all the students in presenting a wonderful show which created long lasting memories for all the teachers.

She further mentioned, “In today’s age, if someone has to put anyone on a pedestal, then it should be a teacher. They are nurturing, educating and carving the future of the nation and creating society’s heroes. One must respect one’s teacher and follow the values taught by them.”
