Education Dept Secretary and CBSE Chairman interact with school principals on NEP

The Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Sanjay Kumar, IAS, along with the Chairperson of CBSE, Nidhi Chhibber, IAS, conducted a constructive session with principals of CBSE-affiliated schools in the national capital.

The meeting encompassed a hybrid format, with more than 250 principals from Delhi and the NCR region attending in person, while numerous principals from various parts of India and abroad joined virtually via the CBSE YouTube channel.

The purpose of the meeting was to gather input and first-hand experiences from schools on their efforts to align with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which was introduced three years ago. Further, Chhibber emphasised the importance of cultivating a holistic learning atmosphere and provided illustrations of incorporating art into activities, implementing project-based assessments, and nurturing 21st-century skills within CBSE schools. 

From Apeejay Education, Ms Veena Goel, Principal at Apeejay School, Pitampura; Ms Anita Yadav, Principal at Apeejay School, Faridabad Sector-15; and Ms Sarita Pande, Principal at Apeejay International School, Greater Noida, attended the event. During the discussion, Ms Goel suggested the esteemed panel if there could be a possibility of launching modified question papers for children with special needs at the secondary level.
