In an interview, Mrs. Rai shares how teachers discuss enrichment or intervention strategies to support student’s learning. Edited excerpts:

How did you come to know about Apeejay schools in Faridabad?

Apeejay is a known and trusted name for every parent and we all are aware of its legacy and its good quality of education.

How has been your experience with Apeejay Svran Global School?

My experience with the school has always been nice. Each and every staff member of the school is very humble as well as warm and we are very satisfied. Our daughter always gets ample opportunities to explore and progress in all aspects. The school has been successful in striking an appropriate balance between academics and co-curricular activities. As it is said, a great team is equal to a great school.

Were online classes at home effective during Covid-19? How did the school help students with the same?

Online classes were really effective during the lockdown phase  and Maisha had a great learning experience. It really made my child tech-savvy and independent too. Digital learning has provided easy access to files and folders that can now be organised and saved without any physical damage. With one click, students can still access their notes and assignments without the fear of misplacing or spoiling them. With advanced technology, this mode of learning has not only been simpler but fun and engaging.

Technology-enabled learning is beneficial and has proven to be more engaging as it helps in making those subjects interactive and fun which are traditionally considered dull by students. Maisha has been more particular with her online submissions as she is notified on a regular basis, and it is an effortless task for the teachers to track down the students who have failed to submit their assignments on time. Online learning has helped Maisha to become an independent learner. She got opportunities to explore new learning applications and platforms during the online classes, which also helped her to develop new skills and capabilities.

How does Apeejay encourage students for extra-curricular activities?

There is no denying the fact that Apeejay always encourages students for extracurricular activities that help them in their holistic development. Many activities and facilities have been improved and conducted throughout the years while creating the best possible place for our child’s development.

How well does the school ensure children’s safety and security?

As far as children’s safety and security are concerned, Apeejay takes all due measures pertaining to that.

How are the teachers helping students on a personal level?

Teachers are really helpful and supportive with kids not just  during school hours, but also post that. They are really amazing, encouraging, and passionate about seeing students succeed. They share academic progress and growth based on classroom observations, testing data, assessments, portfolios, and assignments. They also discuss enrichment or intervention strategies to support student’s learning as well as talk about the issues that may be interfering with their learning and growth.

Maisha’s career aspiration?

She has an inclination towards science at the moment. And being a parent we are always with her in whichever field she wants to pursue her career.

Your message to fellow parents?

Parents should always believe in their children and stand by them. They should also praise their efforts and talents.
