Class XII students took the Chemistry Board exam yesterday, February 28, 2023, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. This year, 38 lakh students are reportedly taking the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Board exam of which 16,96,770 are Class XII students and 21,86,940 are Class X students.

The CBSE class XII Chemistry paper was “easy to moderate” according to Preeti Sharma, Chemistry teacher, Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar.

“The paper followed the CBSE pattern and was well-balanced. The questions were from NCERT, and they covered expected topics. Nothing was out of syllabus,” the teacher said. So, the students who had studied NCERT thoroughly would have been able to answer the question paper easily.

As for the length of the question paper, the Chemistry teacher mentioned that it was not too long.

She added, “Long answer-type questions were direct, and the short answer-type questions were theoretical and tricky. Overall, it was a good paper with balanced elements from all the sections.” However, the MCQs were different in all sets while the theoretical questions were mostly the same.

Students from the Science stream will now prepare for the Physics exam, which will be held on March 6.
