Experiential learning is a powerful tool that fosters confidence, resilience, and teamwork among students. Adventure camps, like the recent In-School Adventure Camp at Apeejay’s IB School, Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park, provided an exciting platform for young learners to step out of their comfort zones and embrace challenges. Such experiences instill essential life skills and nurture problem-solving abilities, social interactions, and leadership qualities. This year’s camp was no exception, delivering a day packed with adventure, fun, and personal growth for students from Nursery to MYP 5.

The In-School Adventure Camp began in the afternoon with a comprehensive briefing and group distribution. Students eagerly prepared themselves for a series of adrenaline-pumping activities designed to test their agility, endurance, and teamwork. The adventure zone buzzed with excitement as students took on challenges like Roller Zorb, Commando Net, Laser Beam, Body Zorb, Burma Bridge, Rope Ladder Climbing, Zip Lining, and many more. Each task encouraged risk-taking, perseverance, and collaborative problem-solving, as students supported one another through obstacles and pushed their limits.
By 4 pm, students took a well-deserved break, relishing a spread of assorted pakoras, noodles, and soft drink. This refueling moment allowed them to recharge before diving back into their thrilling adventure. The energy and enthusiasm remained high as they continued to navigate the physical and strategic challenges, applying critical thinking and communication skills to conquer each one.

As the sun began to set, the youngest participants, from Nursery to PYP 2, gathered for a mesmerising magic show, marking the end of their adventure-filled day. After the show, Nursery to PYP 2 students departed, while the remaining students stayed back for the overnight camp, continuing their experience with engaging camp games, a lively music and DJ session, and the warmth of a bonfire. Laughter, reflection, and camaraderie filled the evening air as students bonded over shared experiences.
Post-dinner, students were guided on using their sleeping bags and air pillows, ensuring a cozy and comfortable night under the stars. Tent numbers and group allocations were announced, helping them settle in smoothly for a well-earned rest. With the morning wake-up call, students embraced a refreshing exercise session, reinforcing self-discipline and well-being. After breakfast, the camp officially concluded, leaving behind cherished memories and a sense of accomplishment.

“The adventure camp was more than just a day of physical challenges, it was an opportunity for students to step out of their comfort zones as risk-takers, collaborate as communicators, and build confidence as reflective learners. I felt immense joy watching them participate in different challenges, support one another, and display resilience. The laughter, teamwork, and enthusiasm they exhibited reaffirmed the importance of experiential learning in nurturing balanced, principled, and open-minded individuals,” Ms Sameeksha Bhatt, PYP Coordinator, said.
The adventure camp not only provided students with thrilling experiences but also helped them develop resilience, teamwork, and a fearless approach to challenges, making it an unforgettable learning journey.
