Apeejay School International (ASI), an international baccalaureate (IB) school in Panchsheel Park, recently organised an enlightening parent orientation programme, aimed at equipping parents with crucial information about the school’s Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP).

The orientation kicked off with an informative overview of the PYP curriculum, which placed significant emphasis on inquiry-based learning and parental involvement. Parents were enlightened about the school’s commitment to fostering a dynamic learning environment where students are encouraged to explore and inquire actively. By actively involving parents in the learning process, ASI aims to create a strong parent-school partnership that positively impacts the overall development of students in the PYP segment.

The focus then shifted to the MYP session, where the school highlighted its interdisciplinary approach to education and the promotion of critical thinking skills among students. The MYP assessment criteria were comprehensively explained, empowering parents to understand how their children’s progress is evaluated. Additionally, parents were provided with valuable guidance on how they can actively engage in their child’s learning journey and support their growth during these formative years.

The final segment of the event was dedicated to parents of DP students. The DP coordinator provided an in-depth overview of the curriculum. Topics covered included subject groups, the extended essay, and the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) components. Parents gained a deeper understanding of the rigorous academic demands that DP entails and the importance of their unwavering support during this critical phase.

During this interactive session, the school highlighted the significance of a balanced approach to education, ensuring that students in the DP segment not only excel academically but also grow holistically. Strategies for fostering this equilibrium between academic excellence and personal well-being were discussed, underscoring the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals.

The orientation programme not only presented essential information but also served as a platform for parents to actively participate in the discussion. A Q&A session allowed parents to seek clarifications from coordinators and teachers, promoting transparent communication between all stakeholders.

Parents lauded the initiative, expressing their appreciation for ASI’s efforts in fostering a cohesive parent-school partnership and an enhanced understanding of the school’s educational approach.
