Apeejay Stya University hosts career counselling session with Oracle experts

Cloud computing and artificial intelligence have accelerated the flow of digital transformation in India. Both these fields are up and coming as many tech aspirants are seeking jobs in these sectors.The School of Engineering and Technology at the Apeejay Stya University recently organised a career counselling session to help  students  understand new trends in the industry.

The insightful session was delivered by Mr. Parag Mitra, a Senior Consultant at Oracle University and Mr. Prakash Phule, Senior Solution Architect Consultant in Oracle India Pvt Ltd. Both the experts provided an introduction to Cloud for the students and made them understand how extensively it is being used in today’s world and applications.

They also discussed artificial intelligence providing an example of how Oracle actively engaged people in the ongoing fight against COVID-19. They shared that Oracle developed and deployed a series of cloud applications to gather data and aid citizens with the support of latest technologies.

Bhargavi Guddati, a 3rd year student says, “The session was very helpful for me. We have completed 4 certifications from Oracle and will be doing more as part of the curriculum. I feel that these skills will help me a lot once I graduate from college and seek a job. Right now, I am trying to learn new scripts so that I can pursue my dream to become an Android Developer.”  

For Abhishek Patel, a 2nd year student, the blend of Oracle certifications with the engineering course at Apeejay is proving very beneficial. He says, “I want to pursue an M. Tech degree in America. For this, I feel that the course and certifications are very helpful. These are valid even outside India and will help me build a strong profile.”

The experts advised students on how to become industry-ready and not miss out on Oracle programmes to upskill themselves. Their presentation was followed by a Question & Answer session between the speakers and students. This was followed by a discussion about the latest job opportunities in Cloud and artificial intelligence industries.
