Harshita DasPre-placement talks play a pivotal role in shaping the career trajectories of college students. These sessions provide a platform for students to gain insights into potential employers, company culture, and job roles. Understanding the organisation’s expectations and values helps students align their career goals. It also allows students to make informed decisions about job applications and interviews. Additionally, pre-placement talks foster networking opportunities, enabling students to interact with industry professionals, ask questions, and create a positive impression. Overall, these talks serve as a bridge between academia and the professional world, equipping students with essential information to make informed career choices.
Thus, understanding the importance of the above-mentioned, CRC (Corporate Resource Centre) Department at Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram recently organised the campus drive and pre-placement talk for the students of the university.
As part of the campus drive and pre-placement talk, Company Infonative Solutions, a privately-owned, for-profit organisation developing custom learning development solutions for clients across various industries, visited the ASU campus to hire an ‘Instructional Design Analyst.’ All students from third as well as final year from School of Journalism and Mass Communication, School of Engineering and Technology, School of Design and Visual Arts, School of Management Sciences & School of Biosciences attend the drive.
Under this process, three rounds including written, online and interview were to be held. Subsequently, a total of 14 students were shortlisted for the online test.
The key resource people for the campus drive and pre-placement talk were Saurabh Kathuria, Co-Founder & Director, who has 20+ years of rich experience in Instructional Design. He was accompanied by Ashminder, who has 13+ years of power-packed experience spread across Education, Marketing, Career Counseling, B2B Sales, and People management.
The experts guided the aspirational students through the placement process while helping them make the right career decisions.
Sharing his experience Abhishek Patel, a final-year student with School of Engineering and Technology said, “Attending the pre-placement talk by Infonative for the instructional designer role was enlightening. The session elucidated the job responsibilities and company ethos, fostering my interest in the position. The culmination with a reflective assignment on “impact of corona on my life” added a unique dimension to the hiring process. It provided an opportunity to showcase not just professional competencies but also personal resilience. Crafting a narrative around the pandemic’s influence on my life allowed me to convey adaptability and communication skills. Overall, the experience affirmed my enthusiasm for the role and underscored Infonative as a company attuned to both professional and personal development.”
A final-year student with School of Design and Visual Arts Arnab Dey highlighted, “It was a wonderful session which was very informative. The experts showed us the benefits of an instructional designer, and explained to us what an instructional designer does for those who were not aware about it. It was a good session, and we learned a lot from there. We had a healthy discussion with questioning rounds where they cleared all of our doubts. At the end of it all, they took a small written test where we were asked to write about our hardships faced during covid. It was a very healthy and interesting session.”
