Students of Apeejay School, Saket, recently embarked on an insightful educational visit to the Hindustan Times Press as part of the Reading Partnership Programme, gaining a valuable behind-the-scenes understanding of the fascinating world of print media. The visit offered students an immersive learning experience where technology, communication, and teamwork came together to showcase the journey of a newspaper from newsroom to reader.
The students were warmly welcomed and guided by Mr Harvinder Singh, Head of Engineering, who introduced them to the intricate processes involved in newspaper production. From large-scale printing machines and colour calibration techniques to paper handling and distribution systems, students witnessed first-hand how advanced technology powers the fast-paced media industry. They also learnt about the importance of coordination among editors, designers, engineers, and production teams in ensuring timely and accurate newspaper delivery every day.
The interactive session sparked curiosity among students as they explored how newspapers are designed, printed, and circulated on a massive scale. The visit not only enhanced their understanding of journalism and media operations but also encouraged them to appreciate the dedication, precision, and collaborative effort required behind every published page.

Teachers accompanying the students highlighted how such experiential learning opportunities bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world application. The exposure enabled students to better understand communication systems, industrial processes, and the role of technology in modern publishing.
Sharing his thoughts on the initiative, the school Principal, Dr Sujeet Eric Masih said, “Site visits and industrial exposure are an essential part of experiential learning. Kudos team!”
The enriching visit proved to be both educational and inspiring, leaving students with a deeper appreciation for the dynamic world of print journalism and the teamwork that drives it forward.
