Yoga is more than a form of physical exercise. It helps strengthen the body, calm the mind and create a sense of inner balance. Highlighting these benefits, Apeejay School, Noida, organised an Inter-house Yoga Competition for Class III in the school auditorium.
Students from Tagore House, Nehru House, Gandhi House and Radhakrishnan House participated with enthusiasm. The competition gave them an opportunity to demonstrate their flexibility, concentration and confidence while understanding the value of yoga in everyday life.
A display of balance and discipline
Each participant presented a graceful sequence of five yoga asanas selected from the prescribed list. The list included Garudasana, Vrikshasana, Baddha Padmasana, Sarvangasana, Paschimotanasana, Ushtrasana, Gomukhasana and Sleeping Chakrasana.
The young participants performed the postures with focus and composure. Their movements reflected regular practice and careful preparation. Maintaining the correct posture requires balance, patience and control, making every performance a valuable learning experience. The auditorium offered a focused setting for their presentations.

Encouragement from the judges
The competition was judged by Ms Rajani and Mr Shiv. They appreciated the enthusiasm, discipline, flexibility and confidence displayed by the students. They also encouraged the participants to practise yoga regularly for physical fitness, mental clarity and emotional well-being.
Manasvini Parihar of Class III-B from Radhakrishnan House secured the first position. Aniket Minhas of Class III-A from Nehru House stood second. The third position was jointly awarded to Gaurvi Kashyap of Class III-A from Tagore House and Abhijeet Singh of Class III-A from Gandhi House.

The event concluded on a positive note, with all participants displaying confidence, balance and sportsmanship. Beyond the results, the competition helped students recognise that yoga calls for patience, discipline and regular effort.
It also reinforced the role of yoga in bringing harmony to the body, mind and spirit. By taking part in the competition, the students were encouraged to view yoga not simply as an activity but as a healthy practice that can remain with them throughout life.
