Ms Mansi Lalwani is the proud mother of Aavyaan, a class 1 student at Apeejay School, Faridabad, Sector 15. Speaking to us in a quick parent interview, the mother says that her child is growing super fast and is learning many diverse skills and abilities. “He has recently started learning rhythmic yoga at the school and now reads so fluently in both Hindi and English, ” says the mother who dedicates the child’s growth to the tireless efforts of the school teachers.

To know more about Aavyaan’s progress, read on:

Please brief us about Aavyaan’s progress in school?

As you know, kids perform well when parents and teachers are fully involved in their academic lives. I keep a full track of Aavyaan’s academics and he is also guided by the school teachers. He is very happy going to school and really likes sports-guru period, pool activity, yoga class and dance class among other classes.

Are you happy after enrolling him in this school?

Aavyaans father is also an alumnus of Apeejay School, Faridabad (Batch of 98). So this is not something new for us.  He is more than happy to go to the school on weekdays and on weekends he misses the school so much. The school is more like a second home for Aavyaan. He is so happy here and the teachers are not just friendly but also nurturing like a mother.

Which subjects does Aavyaan like?

Aavyaan likes all the subjects being taught in the class, but Mathematics is his favourite. Unlike other subjects, mathematics is not subjective. Every question has a clear answer and when you solve it, you can either be right or wrong.

Aavyaan enjoys this objective approach and the certainty that comes with it. Moreover, Aavyaan likes Environmental Science (EVS) and loves to read about plants, animals, climate change. EVS helps him to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as it explores complex environmental issues and also finds solutions.

 Any favourite extracurricular activities?

My son enjoys almost every activity be it storytelling, recitation, craft, fancy dress or dance. He has always been appreciated for his presentation, speaking skills, and confidence on stage. It is possible only because of the opportunities given to him by the school teachers.

Any interest in sports activities?

Yes, he is always ready and excited for the sports period.  Observing his interest, we enrolled him in the sports guru classes which are conducted twice a week apart from the regular sports period. Ms. Shanti ma’am (sports teacher) is very energetic and enthusiastic as a sports educator. She puts in much effort on the physical development of a child.

Are the teachers using any new fun learning techniques?

Yes, the teachers are using many new and effective learning methods. Class 1 has a
theme-based learning curriculum. So every month they have different themes and learn details about that particular topic for a month in every subject with different activities like role-play, story-telling, games, book reading, crafting, worksheets and much more.

I would like to appreciate every teacher of Aavyaan. Ms. Aarti Puri is passionately doing her work, she makes sure that each and every student of her class is learning and growing. She encourages the students by rewarding them for their work by handmade badges & crowns. The students do get motivated by these little things. Then Ms. Aarti Verma ma’am, who is the Hindi teacher, is so calm and dedicated as a teacher and that is why my child’s Hindi is becoming so good.

Ms. Sonu ma’am, the computer teacher, has made computer learning so fun. Ms Paridhi ma’am and Ms Seema Ma’am were the building blocks in Aavyaan life during her nursery and kindergarten days.

Clearly, Aavyaan is very happy at the school!

As I said, the school is like a second home for Aavyaan. He comes home and tells us about the activities done at the school. He loves the lunch time especially at the school, as all the friends gather together and share food. He is happy during the exam time as well. He loves to study at home and feels eager to go to the school and perform well in the exams.

Any recent achievements?

He has recently started learning rhythmic yoga and also performed on stage during the Grandparents Day celebration. This helped to boost his confidence.  Lately, he has also started to read in both English and Hindi fluently.

A talented correspondent writing special articles, interviews and also doing video coverages. Alongside being a poet, short story writer and football player in the time he finds away from work.
