A soulful cultural tribute to grace and empowerment

In an ode to timeless grace and a life devoted to values, Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar, came alive with vibrant colours, rhythmic movements, soulful melodies, and heartfelt expressions during the Rajeshwari Kala Utsav. Held in the cherished memory of Smt. Rajeshwari Paul, a beacon of compassion, empowerment, and cultural richness, the event paid a moving tribute to her inspiring legacy through a magnificent cultural showcase.  

From the very first moment, the atmosphere resonated with reverence and celebration. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and the awakening of creative energy. A soulful ‘Vinamr Shraddhanjali’ followed, where students and faculty remembered Smt. Rajeshwari Paul Ji, with deep respect.

The school choir, joined by music teacher Ms Nidhi Sharma, filled the auditorium with divine bhajans that created an aura of serenity. Soon after, the audience was enchanted by a graceful Ganesh Vandana, invoking blessings of wisdom and success for the programme ahead. 

Adding depth to the celebration, Mrs Anand Mahon delivered a stirring speech on the essence of the Rajeshwari Kala Utsav, highlighting how Smt Rajeshwari Paul’s commitment to the arts and women’s empowerment continues to shape young minds.

The stage then transformed into a space of reflection and power with a thought-provoking mime act on women’s empowerment, performed with intensity and emotion. This was beautifully complemented by a heartfelt Hindi poem recitation by Namta (Class X), celebrating the unwavering spirit of womanhood.  

Laughter and wonder returned to the stage with a delightful puppet show presented by Ms. Indu Bala, Ms. Ramandeep, and Ms. Preeti, weaving storytelling with valuable messages in an entertaining format.  

The highlight of the event was a synchronised group dance performance, where students danced to traditional rhythms in vivid costumes, showcasing the mosaic of India’s cultural diversity. Equally impressive was the Art Exhibition, where hallways turned into galleries of student creativity, displaying intricate artwork that echoed themes of tradition, strength, and beauty.

Principal of the school, Mr AK Sharma, applauded the dedication of students and staff, emphasising how such cultural festivities enrich holistic education and instil pride in heritage. Vice-principal Mrs Loveleen Bagga concluded the day with a warm vote of thanks, appreciating everyone who contributed to making the event a grand success.

The Rajeshwari Kala Utsav 2025 was not just a school event; it was a radiant celebration of talent, tradition, and the enduring influence of a woman who continues to inspire generations. Through every note sung, every step danced, and every word spoken, the legacy of Smt. Rajeshwari Paul Ji was lovingly and artistically honoured.
