On April 6, 2024, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, which has always been at the forefront of innovative educational experiences, extended a warm welcome to a new cohort of parents through its Parent Orientation Program, marking the start of the academic session 2024-25 with vibrancy and a shared vision for the future.

The orientation began on a high note, quite literally, with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by Ganesh Vandana, invoking blessings for the journey ahead. However, it was the junior orchestra that truly set the stage, captivating everyone with their musical prowess. The young musicians of Apeejay, with their rocking performances, filled the air with a sense of excitement and possibility, beautifully illustrating the school’s belief in the holistic development of its students.

The event saw Ms Surabhi Joshi, the Principal, extending a heartfelt welcome to the parents, embarking them on a new educational journey with their children. Her words painted a picture of a collaborative future, where educators and parents come together to nurture the leaders of tomorrow.

Insights for a Lifetime

Dr Jaishree Sethi’s address was a highlight, offering pearls of wisdom on the art of connecting with children. Through storytelling, Dr Sethi illustrated how simple narratives could bridge emotional and cognitive gaps between parents and children. She advocated for the return to physical toys and games, emphasizing their role in developing a child’s psychomotor and cognitive skills, along with fostering social and emotional learning. Her call to replace gadgets with storybooks resonated with many, underscoring the power of reading in shaping young minds.

Partners in Progress

The programme also featured experiences shared by existing parents, aptly titled ‘As a partner in progress.’ Their journeys and insights offered a real-world glimpse into the school’s community and its collaborative ethos, encouraging new parents to actively participate in their children’s educational lives.

A Commitment to Growth

The orientation at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, was more than an event; it was a pledge towards building a supportive and enriching environment for children. By highlighting the critical role of parents in education and offering actionable insights, the school reinforced its commitment to the holistic development of its students.

Looking Ahead

As the curtains drew on the event, it was clear that Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, had laid the foundation for a year of growth, discovery, and collaboration. The Parent Orientation Program was not just an introduction to the school but a gateway to a community dedicated to the well-being and development of its youngest members. In the words of the adage shared during the event, “A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school, and the child is the centre of our universe.” This guiding principle promises a year filled with learning, joy, and mutual success for the Apeejay family.

In bridging the gap between home and school, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, stands ready to support its students and their families on this exciting educational journey, proving once again why it remains a beacon of progressive education.
