Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, transformed into a vibrant hub of tradition and celebration as it hosted a lively dandiya event to mark Navratri recently. The school campus, bathed in radiant colours and rhythmic beats, came alive for the two-hour celebration offering a perfect blend of devotion, dance, and community spirit.
The evening began on a spiritual note with a Durga puja, where students, parents, staff, and community members gathered to seek the blessings of Goddess Durga. The puja ceremony, rich in tradition and reverence, set the tone for the celebration and fostered a sense of unity and devotion among the participants. It was a moment of calm before the vibrant energy of dandiya filled the air.
Once the prayers concluded, the atmosphere swiftly shifted to one of excitement as the school grounds transformed into a dance floor, ready for the evening’s main event. Participants, including students from nursery to class V, their parents, and teachers, dressed in vibrant traditional attire, enthusiastically took to the floor. With synchronised steps and twirling movements, they danced to the energetic beats of folk music, filling the evening with colours and joy. The sheer energy and happiness on display created a mesmerising visual, as participants swayed in harmony, making the most of the festive occasion.

A highlight of the event was the award distribution for the evening’s best performers. School Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha, presented prizes to the most enthusiastic dancers, adding an exciting and competitive edge to the evening. The recognition of these spirited performers was met with cheers and smiles, further enhancing the celebratory mood of the gathering. The prize-giving not only acknowledged talent but also highlighted the importance of participation, joy, and community involvement.
