India is taking rapid steps towards environmental conservation. From afforestation drives to bringing in species of endangered animals, the government is leaving no stone unturned. In sync with the previously mentioned efforts, The Energy Swaraj Foundation recently organised the world’s largest global Climate Clock Assembly event in New Delhi. The event was organised in collaboration with the government’s Atal Innovation Mission.

Over 3,000 people came from diverse fields and assembled more than 500 climate clocks to spread awareness on climate change. Enthusiastic students from Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park left no stone unturned. The young minds who were part of this mega swore to do their bit for Mother Earth.

Shri Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Science and Technology of India, presided over as the chief guest for the event. Aiming to create awareness about the rising temperatures and mitigating climate change issues, the assembly stressed greatly on the temperature increase of 1.5 Celsius holding great significance as it marks the start of irreversible changes in various parts of the climate.

Further, DIY kits were provided to every participant which included Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park.

This event was recorded in the Asia Book of Records for the highest number of climate clock assemblies across the country and was also trending at Times Square in New York, USA.

Indeed, several steps can be taken towards energy conservation. Some collective measures would include keeping an earth hour every month or two weeks. Another great individual tip is to switch off the lights and fans and electric gadgets when not in use. One must remember that energy is the new currency. Let us plant more trees, car-pool to reduce air pollution and maybe bit by bit we can reverse the effects of global warming. Let us all pledge together to save energy and bring about the change for a sustainable living.
