The halls of Apeejay School, Model Town Jalandhar echoed with excitement and anticipation on the morning of December 20, 2023, as the students eagerly awaited an exclusive webinar with the illustrious ISRO project team. The school was privileged to host a session that delved into the intricacies of the Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1 missions.

The webinar, conducted from 11 am to 1 pm in the Multimedia Lab, marked a unique opportunity for the students to connect with the minds behind these groundbreaking missions. The ISRO team, consisting of Shri Shrikant M (Mission Director, Chandrayaan-3 & Aditya-L1), Dr Venkat Raghavendra (Deputy Project Director, Chandrayaan-3 Thermal Systems), and Dr BHM Darukesha (Associate Director & Chief Information Officer, ISRO), shared insights into the challenges, benefits, and the mission’s global impact.

Special thanks were extended to MY FM India and its programme Rangrezz for facilitating this exceptional opportunity, emphasising the collaborative spirit that makes such events possible.

The students had not only prepared themselves for this event intellectually but also showcased their artistic talents in the “Bharat ka Antriksh Mission” Rangrezz competition. The theme resonated with the nation’s space endeavours, and the students, through their drawings, brought forth their interpretation of India’s space mission.

The anticipation was palpable, as the city’s topper from the competition would earn a chance to visit ISRO along with their parents, a unique opportunity provided free of cost. The results were eagerly awaited, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.

The students also actively participated by sending thoughtful questions related to ISRO, Chandrayaan, and Suryayan in advance. These questions reflected a deep curiosity about space exploration, ranging from the technical aspects of liquid propellant sections to the potential for common people or students to travel into space.

During the webinar, the students’ questions were addressed by the ISRO team, turning the session into an engaging and interactive dialogue. The students’ enthusiasm and curiosity were evident in the range of questions they posed, covering topics from career paths to plans for Indian astronauts on the moon.

As the event concluded, the students expressed their appreciation for the school’s initiative in organising such an informative and inspiring webinar. They felt a sense of pride in being part of the journey of Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1, imagining themselves contributing to India’s achievements in space exploration.

“We Kanan and Kangna from IX B appreciate our school Apeejay School, Model Town for conducting such an informative webinar. In this webinar when scientists were telling us about the journey of Chandrayaan 3 we were imagining that we are also a part of that journey. Though they faced many difficulties, still they managed to reach the southern pole of the moon. Because of their efforts India became the first country to reach the Southern pole of the moon. We are proud of them. We wish, in future, our school will organise more such programmes,” the students expressed excitedly.
