Apeejay School, Kharghar, recently organised an informative and inspiring workshop on the importance of providing immediate first- aid, wherein students learned to save the lives of people effectively.

The event began with the felicitation of the guests Dr. Arjun Rammoorthy, MD Emergency Medicine, MBBS and his team by the primary and senior coordinators of the school.

During the event, the expert gave a brief introduction of Basic Life Support (BLS). He also edified everyone to not panic seeing a collapsed patient and try to treat them skillfully.

The seminar was continued by tutoring the students to check the response of the patient, call for help, check breathing and pulse, give CPR for 100-120 minutes, and at least 30 chest compressions as well as2 rescues breathes and continue till the condition is okay. The team also informed the audience what should be told to the paramedics while asking for help.

Dr Arjun and his team then showcased a demonstration of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on a mannequin. For a better interpretation, some students who were interested were called upon the stage to practice CPR with the mannequin. The students were told about the rescue breathes in detail.

A special time was dedicated to gratifying the curiosity of the gathering and hence a doubt-clearing session was conducted. The questions of the students and teachers were elucidated by the Apollo staff very expertly.
