Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, organised a special assembly to celebrate the birthday of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group; Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University; and Chairman, Apeejay Education Society. The assembly brought together the school fraternity in a celebration centred on gratitude, respect and the values that shape a meaningful life.
The programme featured an inspiring speech by students, followed by a thought-provoking play highlighting the importance of human values. Through their presentation, students explored the significance of kindness, compassion, empathy and integrity, conveying how these principles can guide individuals in their everyday interactions and decisions.
The play provided an opportunity for students to reflect on the role of values in building a considerate and responsible society. Rather than limiting the celebration to birthday wishes, the assembly used the occasion to underline the importance of practising these values in daily life, both within the school community and beyond.
A special moment of the programme was the reading of Mrs Berlia’s birthday message by the school’s Principal, Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel. The message was shared with the students and staff as part of the celebration, adding a personal touch to the assembly.

The presentations brought together reflection and celebration, with students using public speaking and theatre to communicate ideas that extend beyond the classroom. The focus on human values also offered an opportunity to reinforce the importance of empathy and consideration for others among young learners.
The school fraternity extended its heartfelt birthday wishes to Mrs Berlia, expressing prayers for her good health, happiness and continued success. The assembly concluded on a note of gratitude and warm wishes, with the school community acknowledging her leadership and association with the Apeejay institutions.
The celebration reflected the school’s emphasis on nurturing students not only through academic learning but also through an understanding of values such as compassion, kindness and integrity. By placing these principles at the centre of the assembly, students marked the occasion with a message that went beyond the celebrations and encouraged them to carry these values into their everyday lives.
