Keeping the spirit of Navratri alive, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, celebrated the occasion through Dandiya Dhamaal 3. It brought students, parents and alumni together for an evening of cultural performances and traditional festivities. The event highlighted the significance of preserving cultural traditions while strengthening the bond between the school and its community. The celebrations began at 5 pm, with the campus reflecting the festive mood through colourful decorations, traditional attire and music.

A celebration rooted in tradition

The programme commenced with the worship of Goddess Durga, as those present sought blessings for happiness, prosperity, courage and well-being. Students from different classes then presented cultural performances that reflected India’s rich heritage.

Dressed in colourful costumes, they showcased their talent through graceful dance movements and coordinated presentations. Their performances drew appreciation from the audience. The occasion also witnessed the release of the school newsletter, while the presence of alumni added to the celebrations.

An evening of dance and participation

The dandiya session brought parents, mothers and students together on the dance floor. Participants danced to traditional music, adding energy and enthusiasm to the festivities. A ramp walk was another attraction of the evening. Participants showcased traditional outfits, receiving applause from the audience.

The programme also included a prize distribution ceremony. Principal Dr Vineet Vasishtha presented prizes to the winners, acknowledging their participation, confidence and enthusiasm. Navratri, he said, is a beautiful celebration of faith, strength and the triumph of good over evil.

“Dandiya Dhamaal 3 brought our school community together in a joyful celebration of Indian culture and traditions. I appreciate the enthusiasm of our students, the wholehearted participation of parents and mothers, and the efforts that made this evening,” he shared.

Beyond the performances and festivities, Dandiya Dhamaal 3 provided students with an opportunity to connect with India’s cultural heritage. It also encouraged interaction among parents, students and alumni, reinforcing the importance of community participation in school celebrations.

The celebrations concluded with an aarti, bringing everyone together for a final moment of prayer and gratitude.
