For Priya Sharma, choosing Apeejay School, Noida for her daughter wasn’t just about academics. It was about finding a school that would support their overall personality development, backed by a strong curriculum and genuine exposure beyond the classroom. With her daughter, Vanusha Rathore, now in Class 2, she reflects on what convinced her, and the growth she’s seen in both her girls since joining.
What factors did you consider while admitting your children to the school?
Apart from academics, what mattered most to me was the curriculum itself, and the kind of exposure children get beyond regular studies. That’s what really helps a child develop a complete, well-rounded personality. Proximity to home was another practical factor, but overall, it was the environment of the school and the quality of the teachers that really stood out to us.
Have your expectations been met since your daughter joined?
Absolutely, yes. The school offers a wonderful range of extracurricular activities and sports for the children. It’s been over a year now since my daughters joined. I can see the development in their personalities — the way they speak, the confidence they’ve gained. Children spend 7 to 8 hours a day at school, and that environment clearly plays a big role in shaping who they become.
Do you feel the school is safe, in terms of both academic and non-academic staff, including bus attendants?
Absolutely, and this is honestly one of the best parts of our experience. Vanusha travels by the school bus, and the didis accompanying them are wonderful. They always inform me in advance if the person picking up my children is running late. There was even an instance when Vanusha reached school on a day it happened to be off for her.
The school called me proactively and made sure I was informed well in time to pick her up. That level of proactive communication is something you don’t always see. Apeejay has been genuinely on top of it.
Do you feel teachers help students learn at their own pace rather than rushing through the syllabus?
Yes absolutely. I’ve attended several PTMs, and my approach with teachers has always been to ask not what my child is doing well, but specifically where they’re lacking. I have consistently received honest, constructive feedback.
One experience that really stood out to me was when my children joined mid-session, since my husband has a transferable job. The teachers were incredibly supportive. There was never a sense of rush or pressure put on the children. She never came home feeling panicked about catching up, which said a lot about how thoughtfully the teachers handled it.
How has communication been around school events, like theme-based assemblies or excursions?
Very reliable. My daughter Vanusha, participated in an MUN event, and the way the school handled it was fantastic. Teachers accompanied the students throughout, and I received regular updates. Everything was communicated well in advance. I never felt out of the loop. I’m genuinely satisfied with how they manage these external activities.
What about infrastructure — washrooms, libraries, and general facilities?
I’ve personally visited the washrooms, since hygiene — especially in the girls’ washrooms — has always mattered a great deal to me as a mother. I found them clean, well-maintained, and free of any odour, which was reassuring.
