For Abhilasha Tyagi, choosing Apeejay School, Noida for her daughter Sunaira came down to word of mouth. With Sunaira now in Class 1, Abhilasha reflects on her daughter’s foundational years at the school and the reassurance she’s found in its approach to student safety and extracurricular growth.

What factors did you consider when admitting Sunaira to Apeejay?

First the school has a strong track record of producing toppers. That reputation really stayed with us. It also helped that the school is very close to our residence, which made things far more convenient day to day. We also had a detailed session with one of the admission team members before deciding, and that conversation gave us the confidence to go ahead with Apeejay.

How has Sunaira’s experience been so far?

The teachers are genuinely wonderful. Her class teacher does an excellent job during PTMs. I can tell she really understood each child individually, including what Sunaira needed and how she learned best. It gave us a lot of confidence in the school’s approach right from the start.

Are you happy with the extracurricular activities and overall development opportunities?

This is honestly one of the strongest aspects of Sunaira’s experience at Apeejay. She’s enrolled in Sports Guru and does really well there. She also takes yoga classes, which she enjoys so much that she comes home and practises on her own. Watching her enthusiasm for these activities has been genuinely lovely as a parent.

How do you feel about safety and security on campus?

This is something I’m extremely happy with. I actually have a specific story that captures it well. Once, Sunaira forgot her water bottle on a day the class had a picnic planned, so I rushed back to the school to drop it off for her. The security team didn’t let me in directly, which I completely understood, but then a senior security official came over and, before handing over the bottle, asked me to drink some of the water myself first.

It took me a moment to realise why — it was their way of ensuring nothing had been tampered with and confirming I was indeed her parent before the bottle reached her. I drank the water, he was satisfied, and only then was it handed over to Sunaira. That level of care and caution genuinely impressed me.
