Recently, Apeejay School, Noida, organised a special Teachers’ Day celebration for students of Classes III to V. The event recognised the role teachers play in shaping young minds and nurturing children with patience, care and dedication.
The celebration began with an assembly that introduced students to the life and contributions of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is observed as Teachers’ Day in India.
A tribute through performances
Poetry, music, dance and learning came together during the assembly. Students presented a soulful poem and participated in an interactive quiz. The choir performed We Sing for You, Our Teachers, followed by an energetic dance presentation. Preparatory Years In-charge Ms Apurva Gupta added a personal touch by reciting a heartfelt poem for the teachers.
Getting to know teachers better
The celebration continued in the classrooms with activities that helped students express their gratitude and understand their teachers beyond their everyday roles.

Class III students participated in a Teacher Interview and asked about their teachers’ interests, experiences and personalities. During My Teacher in Five Words, they chose five meaningful words to describe how they viewed and appreciated their teachers.
The Reverse Classroom added a playful twist as students stepped into the role of teachers. The activity allowed them to experience the responsibilities of teaching and understand the effort their educators make each day.
What makes a great teacher?
Students of Classes IV and V became hosts for the Teacher Talk Show. They interviewed their teachers and asked a range of thoughtful and interesting questions.
Students worked together to discuss the qualities of an inspiring, supportive and memorable educator in What Makes a Great Teacher? They then created a Teacher’s Charter listing five qualities they believed defined a great teacher.

For Letter to My Teacher 2036, students imagined themselves ten years into the future. They wrote heartfelt letters explaining how their teachers’ guidance, values and lessons would remain part of their lives.
The thoughtfully planned activities brought warmth and meaning to the occasion. The celebration concluded with students gaining a deeper appreciation of their teachers and the lasting place they hold in a child’s journey.
