The Ishikawa Club of Apeejay School of Management( ASM), Dwarka successfully organised an engaging and thought-provoking activity, “Float Your Design – The Paper Boat Challenge”. The event was designed to blend creativity, scientific reasoning, and operational decision-making, offering students a unique opportunity to put their problem-solving skills into practice through a hands-on challenge.

Each participant was provided with nothing more than a single A4 sheet of paper and was tasked with designing and folding a boat capable of floating and remaining stable. While seemingly simple at first glance, the challenge demanded a fine balance of innovation, design thinking, and practical execution. The boats were evaluated on three key parameters—buoyancy, balance, and durability—which tested the participants’ ability to think critically and innovate under constraints.

The competition saw an impressive display of ingenuity, as students created boats that ranged from traditional folded models to highly inventive structures, reflecting diverse approaches to design and problem-solving. The lively spirit of competition combined with the joy of experimentation made the atmosphere both vibrant and inspiring.

After careful evaluation, the winners of the challenge were announced:
Daksh Aggarwal secured the 1st Place, followed by Harjas Kaur in 2nd Place, and Kunwar Navneet Singh in 3rd Place. Their models stood out for their structural stability, creativity, and functionality.

The event’s success was made possible with the dedicated volunteer support of Mr. Ritik Relan and Ms. Yashika Rajput, who ensured smooth coordination throughout the activity. The Ishikawa Club also expressed deep gratitude to Dr. Nikita Dhankar, whose guidance and encouragement played a pivotal role in shaping the event into a meaningful learning experience.

Float Your Design – The Paper Boat Challenge was more than just a fun activity; it was a powerful reminder that even with limited resources, creativity and thoughtful planning can drive innovation. It also reinforced the Ishikawa Club’s mission of promoting experiential learning, teamwork, and operational excellence among students.

The challenge concluded on a high note, leaving participants motivated to apply their imagination and analytical skills in future academic and professional pursuits.
