For the Singh family, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg has been more than just an academic institution – it’s been a place where both their children, Harnoor and Ranvir, have flourished in confidence, academics, and extracurriculars. With a deep-rooted family business in Phulkari handicrafts, the parents have unwavering trust in the school’s guidance. She shared that this school was recommended to them by the principal of their children’s earlier playschool, who had said, “If you want overall development for your child, go to Apeejay.” That suggestion made a lasting impression on the family and guided their choice of school. Apeejay Newsroom spoke with the mother of Class 9 student Ranvir Singh in a heartfelt telephonic interview, and here’s what she shared.

How long has your family been associated with Apeejay School?

We’ve been with Apeejay since the very beginning. Ranvir started in Nursery at the Tanda Road branch, and later we shifted him to the Mahavir Marg campus in Class 5. His elder sister, Harnoor, also studied here and is now pursuing engineering at Thapar University.

How has the school guided both Harnoor and Ranvir in academics and future career choices?

The teachers are very professional and experienced. They’ve guided both Harnoor and Ranvir in identifying the right career paths. Ranvir was motivated by his teachers to take part in Olympiads, and he even won a gold medal. Coming from a business background, I didn’t know about these exams, but the teachers have been extremely helpful in educating both the students and us as parents.

How did Ranvir develop an interest in robotic engineering?

In Class 7, he had electronics as an additional subject, and that’s when his interest in robotics started. There was a particular teacher – Ranvir still remembers him – who made the subject so engaging that he’s now set on pursuing robotic engineering.

What role have extracurricular activities played in their development?

A big role! Harnoor and Ranvir have taken part in poetry recitations, quizzes, debates, and music competitions. Whether it’s Punjabi, Hindi, or English poems – they’ve always done well. These activities have really boosted their confidence.

How is the communication between parents and teachers?

Very smooth. During Harnoor’s time, we used to wait for monthly PTMs. Now, we can connect easily through WhatsApp. The teachers are approachable and always make us feel comfortable while sharing updates.

Does Ranvir attend any tuition or coaching outside school?

No, not yet. I was planning to enroll him for science and math tuitions, but he said he understands everything taught in school. That speaks volumes about how well the teachers explain concepts.
