Speaking to her during a quick interview, Keshvi explains the role of Apeejay in this journey and more. Read edited excerpts:

What was your key role that led you to achieve this award?

As a student in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, my key role involved leveraging the power of media to promote peace and understanding.  I believe my ability to effectively communicate these messages through various media platforms, such as social media, university publications, and community outreach programs, played a crucial role in achieving this award. Furthermore, I actively engaged with fellow students and faculty members to foster a culture of peace within the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, encouraging critical thinking, responsible reporting, and the ethical dissemination of information.

How did Apeejay help you in this journey?

Apeejay Stya University has been instrumental in my journey towards peacebuilding. The university’s strong emphasis on values like inclusivity, respect, and social responsibility has deeply influenced my own approach. The supportive environment and the encouragement to pursue meaningful social impact initiatives have been invaluable in this endeavor.

What are you working on currently? Anything interesting?

Currently, I’m deeply involved in taking our theatre society to greater heights, on peace-building projects through Art and Theatre, developing a new curriculum module on conflict resolution and peace education”]. These initiatives are particularly exciting as they provide opportunities for students to engage directly in peacebuilding efforts and make a tangible difference in their communities.

What are your future plans?

My future plans involve continuing to advocate for peace and understanding both within and beyond the university. I aspire to connect the young minds and foster their vision about volunteering for peace and harmony so that more youths come together and the world can be a better place. I believe that through collective action and sustained efforts, we can create a more just and peaceful world.
