India International Science Festival: A Global Confluence of Scientific Minds

The India International Science Festival (IISF) emerged as a global hub of scientific brilliance, bringing together minds from 23 countries in a celebration of innovation and discovery. Held from January 17th to 20th, 2024, with the theme “Science and Technology Public Outreach in Amrit Kaal,” the festival showcased a diverse array of events.

Notably, the Young Scientists Conference took center stage, featuring oral and poster presentations by 400 selected participants, predominantly comprising PhD students and post-doctorates. The festival’s collaborative spirit and commitment to scientific excellence fostered an environment of shared knowledge and progressive discourse.

The inaugural day, chaired by Sh. Mool Chand Sharma and Sh. Piyush Goyal, included registration and scientific sessions. The subsequent days witnessed scientific sessions, oral and poster presentations, and conferences chaired by various esteemed scientists. Shri Kiran Rijiju presided over the Young Scientists Conference. International speakers contributed to sessions on the 19th, followed by the completion of oral and poster evaluations. The festival concluded with a session chaired by Honourble Chief Minister of Haryana, Sh. Manohar Lal Khattar and various political dignitaries.

The steering committee featured distinguished scientists like Prof. Abhay Karandikar (Secretary DST) and Dr. N Kalaiselvi (Secretary, DSIR&DG, CSIR). The festival successfully fostered scientific exchange and encouraged students to embrace science for their future endeavours.

Monica Dagar, MPharm student at Apeejay Stya University participated in IISF and presented a poster on her research subject on January 18, 2024.

“A special thanks to my teachers Rani Ma’am and Narender Sir who gave me all the relevant details about the event and encouraged me to participate. I submitted my abstract on topic- “AI: A BOON for diabetes management” under the theme AI and machine learning,” Dagar expressed.

“I got certified on the last day/ valedictory day of the event. As a master’s student, it was a great opportunity for me to connect with other people from various fields and to represent my University at an international conference. My research paper abstract will also get published.” She further added.
