The School of Management at Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, successfully conducted an expert session on “Resume Building for Career Success” as part of its Industry–Academia Interface Activities. The session was organised with the aim of equipping students with practical knowledge and professional insights required to present themselves effectively in today’s competitive job market.
The session featured distinguished speaker Ribha Malhotra, a renowned Resume Writer and Talent Acquisition Expert. Drawing upon her extensive professional experience in recruitment and career consulting, she shared valuable guidance on how students can craft impactful resumes that align with industry expectations.

The workshop witnessed active participation from final semester MBA and BTech students who are preparing to step into the professional world. During the session, Ms. Malhotra explained the importance of creating resumes that clearly highlight a candidate’s strengths, achievements, and relevant skills. She also discussed common mistakes that students often make while preparing resumes, such as including unnecessary information, poor formatting, and lack of clarity in presenting accomplishments.
Through practical examples and interactive discussions, she guided students on structuring their resumes in a concise yet effective manner. She emphasised the need to customise resumes according to specific job roles and industry requirements, rather than relying on a generic format. According to her, a well-crafted resume not only reflects a candidate’s qualifications but also demonstrates professionalism, attention to detail, and clarity of thought.

The session proved to be highly interactive, as students actively engaged with the speaker by asking questions related to resume writing, interview preparation, and career planning. Ms. Malhotra responded to their queries with practical insights and encouraged students to continuously refine their resumes to stay relevant in the evolving job market. Her guidance helped students understand how to position themselves effectively before recruiters and enhance their chances of securing promising career opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC, appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of such sessions in preparing students for professional success. He stated that sessions like these strengthen the institute’s commitment to nurturing future-ready professionals equipped with confidence, clarity, and industry-aligned skills.

Dr. Bagga also commended the efforts of the event coordinators, Manpreet Kaur and Anuradha, for successfully organising the workshop and ensuring its smooth execution.
The expert session served as a valuable learning experience for students, enabling them to understand the importance of effective professional communication and self-presentation. By bridging academic learning with industry expectations, the initiative reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to preparing students for successful careers in the corporate world.
