Apeejay School, Tanda Road celebrates Earth Day with eco-friendly activities

Students engage in green initiatives to raise awareness about environmental conservation

Apeejay School, Tanda Road in Jalandhar celebrated Earth Day with fervor, engaging students in a variety of eco-friendly activities aimed at promoting environmental conservation. The youngest members of the school, the pre-primary students, embraced the Earth Day theme by dressing in green-colored clothes, symbolising the importance of preserving our planet. 

Nursery and pre-nursery students showcased their creativity by decorating Earth-themed worksheets with glitters, while LKG students expressed their artistic skills through origami, tearing, and pasting to create Earth designs. The UKG students colored pictures of the Earth and adorned them with glitters, adding sparkle to their creations.

Highlighting the significance of greenery, a ‘Plant a Sapling’ activity was organised, with students bringing various saplings to contribute to the school’s green initiative. Classes III to V students enthusiastically participated in this activity, planting saplings with great zeal.

Further, emphasising environmental responsibility, students from Classes I & II took part in an environmental cleanliness drive. They initiated efforts to clean their homes and localities, promoting the importance of maintaining a clean environment for all.

At the same time, Classes VI to VIII undertook a household water audit, spreading the crucial message of water conservation and advocating for a clean environment. Led by Ms. Deepti Kaushal, the school’s coordinator, students were motivated to take proactive steps in preserving the environment and instilled with the value of environmental conservation.

Through these various activities, Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, not only celebrated Earth Day but also instilled a sense of responsibility and awareness among its students towards environmental conservation. These initiatives not only contribute to a greener and cleaner planet but also shape the mindset of future generations to become environmentally conscious citizens.
