Young orators take centre stage

Inter-house Hindi Debate Competition at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, celebrates critical thinking, persuasive speaking, and the power of language.

“वाक् शक्ति वह दीप है जो विचारों को प्रकाश देता है और व्यक्तित्व को निखारता है।”  Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, organised its Inter-house Hindi Debate Competition for the middle school, providing students with an engaging platform to hone their oratory skills, strengthen critical thinking, and celebrate the richness of the Hindi language. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing all four houses: Gautam, Kabir, Nanak, and Vivekananda, who impressed the audience with their eloquence, confidence, and intellectual depth. 

The competition featured spirited exchanges of ideas as participants presented well-researched arguments with clarity, logical reasoning, and conviction. Demonstrating remarkable stage presence and effective communication skills, the young debaters articulated their viewpoints with confidence while maintaining the true spirit of healthy competition. Their thoughtful presentations made the event both engaging and intellectually stimulating for everyone present.

After a closely contested competition, the judges announced the winners based on content, delivery, confidence, and overall presentation. Kayna of Class VII (Nanak House) secured the first position, while Manan of Class VI (Kabir House) claimed the second position. The third position was jointly awarded to Sanvi of Class VII (Gautam House) and Bhavika of Class VIII (Nanak House). The winners stood out for their persuasive arguments, command over the Hindi language, and confident delivery, reflecting meticulous preparation and a sound understanding of the topic.

Addressing the gathering, the school Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha congratulated all the participants for their outstanding performances and appreciated their efforts in promoting the beauty and significance of Hindi. “The Inter-House Hindi Debate Competition showcased the remarkable speaking abilities, confidence, and analytical thinking of our students. I congratulate all the winners and participants for their sincere efforts and commendable performances. Debate teaches students to express ideas with clarity, respect diverse opinions, and develop independent thought. Such literary activities play an important role in shaping responsible, articulate, and confident young citizens. I encourage every student to participate wholeheartedly in future competitions and continue enriching their command over the Hindi language.”

The event concluded with Dr Vasishtha felicitating the winners and participants with certificates in recognition of their dedication and hard work. The Inter-house Hindi Debate Competition served as an inspiring platform for nurturing confidence, leadership, effective communication, and analytical thinking among students, leaving them motivated to participate in future literary endeavours with renewed enthusiasm.
