‘Why did I choose this pre-school? It offers holistic education, hands-on learning and a homely environment’

Mother of Japjot Singh, Mrs. Gurdeep Kaur, highly recommends Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld School, Greater Kailash-II to fellow parents. Along with her husband, Ramanjeet Singh, she visited many pre-schools in Delhi since July last year. Several visits and many options later, they chose Apeejay. Mrs Kaur says, “We never envisioned a magnificent school with a lot of facilities or infrastructure for Japjot. Rather, our focus has been to provide him an environment that can help set his foundation right. Moreover, my husband and I are working professionals. Often, we are not able to spend a lot of time with our son at home. Therefore, it is important to inculcate independence in him early on.” Read the edited excerpts from the interview, as she shares more. 

What stood out for you in the school?

Firstly, it is commendable how the school is teaching the children. Teachers put tremendous efforts to deliver their best. Secondly, I observed that the curriculum and learning pedagogies of the school were practical and hands-on. Children learn through experience with the help of sensory play and other activities. Thirdly, the school has a legacy of delivering holistic education. In the future, no matter in which place we may shift our house, as a couple we have decided to only go with Apeejay. Lastly, the school has a family-like environment. It is a secure space for our child and is well-recognised for providing good education and good care. They also inculcate moral values among students to make them accomplished individuals.

Tell us about your first visit to the school.

When we visited Rhythms, the school was preparing for its summer session. They were doing up the walls and ensuring that students have a neat environment. All the ‘didis’ were very cordial and well-trained. We were shown the entire school and informed about its curriculum, fee structure, etc. After a few days, my husband and I discussed and then paid a second visit to the school to clear up our doubts. Soon, my son started his classes. The admission process was quite smooth.

How is your son’s experience in the school?

I recall his first day when I dropped him off at school. He was crying because he didn’t want to leave me. But in about a week’s time, he was happy to attend the school and also formed a close bond with the teachers. It has been a year since our association with Apeejay and my son feels very excited to attend his classes. Off late, he fell ill due to a viral infection. But even at home, he tried to stay updated about the school events through his friends and teachers.

Please share some developmental milestones of your son.

Earlier, Japjot used to speak only a few words. Now, he has begun to communicate more. He grasps words faster and loves to share his thoughts. Observing the same, I trust that my child is in good hands. His class teacher, Yukti Ma’am, is doing a great job. I would also like to mention that Komal Nathani Ma’am, the school’s Headmistress, is always available for the children. She looks into all the details and takes care of everything.

An interesting experience you would like to share.

In December 2022, the school held a ‘Peek-a-boo’ session in which they provided a brief to the parents on how their children will learn new things in the upcoming session. I felt that this exercise was extremely helpful for understanding. It made us (parents) feel like collaborative partners. I feel blessed that my child is part of such a prestigious institution.

Your advice to fellow parents?

Go for Apeejay! It is the right choice.
