Science is not just a subject; it’s a method of organising our curiosity and understanding the world around us. And what better way to celebrate this spirit of creativity, innovation, and reasoning than through a week-long Science and Mathematics Exhibition. The same was held at Apeejay School Rama Mandi, Jalandhar. Let’s explore a virtual tour of this exciting event, where students showcased their scientific temperaments through an array of fascinating projects and models. Read on.
Inauguration by Chief Guest
The Science Week commenced with great fervour as Mr ML Bains, Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Jalandhar, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The students, along with teachers, eagerly awaited the moment when the exhibition was inaugurated, and Mr Bains was left spellbound by the students’ hard work and dedication.
Diving into Scientific Creativity
With enthusiasm and zeal, students from classes VI to X presented over 70 models. Their projects encompassed a wide range of topics, demonstrating the application of science in everyday life. What’s remarkable is that these young Apeejayites constructed their models using low-cost, eco-friendly materials, and even repurposed waste items creatively!
An Objective to Ignite Science
The primary objective of the exhibition was to ignite the essence of science among the students. By participating actively in the event, the young minds were encouraged to think critically, problem-solve, and present their ideas confidently. The event served as an excellent platform for them to showcase their knowledge and creativity to guests and proud parents, who were also invited to the event.
Words of Encouragement and Appreciation
In his address, Mr Bains congratulated the school for nurturing academic interest among the students. He felt proud to witness the school’s growth and success in shaping children’s careers through excellent academics, co-curricular activities, and instilling strong values.
The Principal of the school, Mr AK Sharma, along with the school staff, expressed appreciation for the students’ joint efforts in creating exceptional projects. He acknowledged the hard work of the Science and Mathematics teachers, Ms Monisha Sharma, Ms Ramandeep Kaur, Ms Preeti Sharma, Mr Abhishek Bajaj, and Ms Tamanna Sharma, for guiding and inspiring the students throughout the process.
According to Ms Monisha Sharma, PGT Biology educator in the school, “Students worked in teams to showcase their skills. They were supervised by teachers throughout the event. From picking from concepts like rain water harvesting to climate change, all the students did a great job in creating working projects based on scientific principles.”
Vote of Thanks
Vice-principal, Ms Aarti Shorey Bhat extended her gratitude to the principal for providing an amazing platform for the Science and Mathematics Week. She also thanked the chief guest, for his invaluable presence and motivating words for the students. She acknowledged the dedication of all the teachers involved in making the exhibition a grand success and expressed gratitude to the parents for their valuable presence and support.
Overall, the Science Week Exhibition at Apeejay School, Rama Mandi was undoubtedly a knowledgeable and informative event that left everyone inspired and curious about the wonders of science.
