‘To the music 2023’: Poem by Varinda Chopra, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar

To every lyric of the song, I heard this year,

You made me dance, made me sing.

You made me cry, I got so high.

And the best part, you taught me how to write.

You were the voice when everything was pointless,

You were the vibe when I changed.

Travelled back to you again and again,

Bad days felt like you could explain my brain.

To find the right song, at the right time,

Swear, this happened to me.

From the saddest to the happiest feelings,

The brightest part of my evenings.

So this one is for the song, I heard like 108 times,

You kept my sad nights alive.

Played in loop, back and forth,

This song, a wealth, not all people actually can afford.

And some songs make you dance,

For that one moment when you just forget everything.

Every step goes just perfectly amazing,

That day, you realise that you’re living.

Well, some songs make memories,

An impression left so touching,

Make you smile whenever you’re reminded of ‘em.

And gradually these lyrics are something you become.

So carve your name to these shining stars,

Cause you will almost lose it all.

Follow them through the dark,

And you’ll reach somewhere you really belong
