Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, echoed with youthful enthusiasm as the young scholars of class 2 came together to celebrate World Postal Day. The objective of the activity was to introduce the students to the intriguing world of postal services, enhancing their understanding of this traditional yet vital means of communication.

The engaging session commenced with an interactive discussion, where the students were introduced to the history and functions of post offices. To make the learning experience more tangible, various stamps, postcards, and letters were displayed, allowing the children to explore the diverse forms of communication facilitated by postal services.

Highlighting the event was the creative flair exhibited by Rihan Aggarwal, an imaginative student from class 2, who took the celebration a step further. Rihan crafted a vibrant and functional post box, adding a hands-on and artistic dimension to the learning process.

The heart of the celebration was a simulated post office scene, meticulously set up to provide the students with a first-hand experience of how postal services operate. The children actively participated in role-playing scenarios, taking on the roles of postmasters and customers, creating an immersive and educational atmosphere.

The students not only learned about the mechanics of sending letters but also had the opportunity to write and send their own postcards. This hands-on activity not only fostered their creativity but also instilled a sense of appreciation for the time-honoured tradition of sending and receiving physical mail.

In addition to the informative aspects, the celebration aimed to nurture the students’ social and creative skills. The engaging activities were designed to promote teamwork, communication, and critical thinking, making the event a holistic learning experience.

Overall, the celebration proved to be a delightful amalgamation of education and fun. By delving into the world of stamps, postcards, and letters, the students not only expanded their knowledge but also developed a deeper appreciation for the rich history and significance of postal services.
