His son, Khrishang, has been studying at Apeejay School, Nerul, since the beginning. Today, he is in Class III. In these last three to four years, the parent has seen many positive changes. “He is good at studies and has become more focused with every passing year,” Mayuresh Ranjan shared in a candid interview, among other things.

What changes have you seen in your son academically?

Earlier, he wrote poorly and often left his classwork incomplete. We would generally have to ask him to complete it at home. But now, especially from Class III, I have seen a significant change in him. He has started completing his classwork. After returning home and taking some rest, he also begins completing the remaining schoolwork on his own. These are some of the significant changes I have noticed in him.

What about extracurricular activities?

Yes, he participates in extracurricular activities, including sports activities such as SportsGuru. Whenever there is a sports programme in school, he takes part in it. He is good at chess. Therefore, the school gives him opportunities where he can showcase his skills.

How have the teachers supported him over the years?

In the last three to four years, we have been fortunate to have very good class teachers. They really take care of my son and, of course, the other students as well. This is very good for their overall grooming.

How is the parent-teacher communication in the school?

The school occasionally conducts parent meetings, and we go there to interact with the teachers. There is no issue as such. The teachers give enough time to speak about the child’s development. If parents have any concerns, they give ample time to discuss them properly.

What values have you seen in him?

I have noticed that earlier, he did not keep his belongings properly in his bag while coming back home. Now, he has started keeping everything properly in his folder and bag. He brings his books and notebooks back in an organised way. That change is clearly visible.

Why did you choose this school for your son?

There were two to three reasons. The major reason was that the school is very close to my residence. The second reason was the good reputation of the school. Third, a few of my seniors’ children were studying here, so we were familiar with the environment, behaviour, and teachers’ approach. Apeejay School was always my preference.

How do you find the safety protocols at the school?

I have noticed that the school does not allow children to disperse unless their parents or someone from the family comes to pick them up. I have observed this policy over the last three to four years. This is a very good practice for any school and for parents as well. Parents feel satisfied and safe when their children are in school.
