Schools that prioritise self-independence among students, also help them to build a strong sense of confidence in themselves. It is imperative that one must choose a school that provides holistic education and goes beyond the academic achievements of a child helping them get prepared for a dynamic yet a competitive future ahead. One such institute is Apeejay Education with a legacy spanning over five decades.
This made it easy for parents like Shubhra Abrol, mother of Ivaan Abrol studying at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park in the nursery. Looking at the exceptional education being provided at this school where children are encouraged to manage their tasks and become independent, she chose this school for her son.
In a candid interview, the mother talks about what she appreciates most at this school.
How was the admission process?
The process of enrolling my child at this school was very simple and effortless. We proceeded to the junior wing of the school, where Ivaan underwent a brief interview. Upon his selection, we were required to complete the forms with the necessary details, and our task was completed on the spot.
Does your child likes to go to school?
Definitely. He loves attending school so much that he barely takes any leaves. Even when he is a little ill, he wants to go to school.
Is he involved in any extracurricular activities?
Ivaan does not get involved in extracurricular activities as such and there is no specific sport that he enjoys but he maintains a high level of enthusiasm in participating in the games that are organised by the teacher in the class.
Changes ever since he joined the school.
Yes. Although it is very early to make any such judgments but Ivaan is doing pretty well at school and also studies at home. I believe that he is becoming a bit independent thanks to the teaching methodology and the teachers here.
Is he a fussy eater?
In the beginning, my son encountered challenges adjusting to the daily school routine, which made him a fussy yet selective eater. However, that phase has passed, and he no longer faces such difficulties. Now, he eats by himself and I have not even received any complaint from his teacher either in this regard.
Are you satisfied with your decision of choosing this school for your child?
I am more than satisfied with my decision of choosing this school for my son. I don’t think there could be any better option than Apeejay for Ivaan.
How do you spend quality time with Ivaan?
We engage in home-based activities, create drawings and paintings, study together, and occasionally enjoy watching TV together. Our time spent at home is enjoyable and fulfilling. On weekends, I plan to take him out helping him explore various places.
Anything specific that you appreciate the most about this school?
They encourage students to participate in all the activities that the school organises from time to time. The school also encourages children to be independent. This approach is highly commendable.
