The vital role of ‘rules’

The word reminds me of the song “Saare nium tod do, nium se chalna chod do” from the movie Khoobsurat. A child perceives that there is a rule for everything; when to sleep, when to get up, what to eat, and many more. They want to play all day, stay up late at night, eat and enjoy whatever they want without restrictions.

Now, imagine a world without rules: Your pilot decides he is in no mood to fly the plane, and you are all geared up for a vacation to Disneyland! Imagine playing cricket without rules!!! Who wins and who loses?!!! There would be total anarchy in the world without rules.

Rules are made to promote harmony and a feeling of oneness with everyone. By learning to follow rules, a child is better prepared to follow rules as an adult.

All in all, rules provide structure and order in our lives, ensuring that we function harmoniously as individuals and within our communities.

While children may often resist them in their pursuit of freedom, rules serve a fundamental purpose in maintaining the well-being of society. They guide us in making responsible choices, upholding standards of safety, and fostering cooperation among individuals.

Without rules, chaos would prevail, and our world would be a vastly different. In fact, likely less pleasant place to live. So, as much as we may at times want to break free from rules, they ultimately play a crucial role in creating a stable and peaceful society.

Thus, the world is a happy place when ruled by ‘Rules’.
