Listen to the full poem here:
I once saw a hairy bear
That climbed up a tree.
And then I saw another hairy bear,
And both danced with a bee!
Suddenly, the bears and I
Saw a big circle in the sky.
It was as big as a thundering cloud,
It hovered and hovered up and down.
It parted and started chasing the bears,
Who themselves were fat and fluffy as pears
So off went the bears,
Who I named Lilly and Billy.
They ran and ran as fast as they could,
But alas they were a four-legged fat creature, it’s understood!
They were running fast with all their might,
But couldn’t match the speed of the thundering light!
Suddenly, I had a shiver down my spine,
And realized that the circle in the sky was now chasing my line.
So, off I went
Running with all my might.
But couldn’t match the speed of the thundering light!
Suddenly, I felt a chill, a splash on my face,
And there she stood, in her motherly grace.
With a bucket in hand, her morning tool
Asking me gently, “Get up, it’s time for school!’
