As a parent, one of the most important decisions that you make is choosing the right school for your child. Schooling is regarded as an indispensable developmental stage wherein a child’s emotional, cognitive, and behavioural skills are defined. For this, you must look for a school that is not just academically excellent, but an institute that tends to transform your child’s future 360 degrees. According to Raman Goel, father of Maanya, studying in class I, Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad in Sec-21 D, fits the bill perfectly.

In a candid interview, the father talks about how Apeejay believes in providing ample opportunities to not just grow academically but also beyond that as well.

What made you choose this school?

Is there any other brand school other than Apeejay, asks a father. Well, I primarily chose this school because it has an ongoing legacy of more than 50 years. Every parent searches to provide holistic education to their child. This school is an excellent institute that provides it all.

Notable changes in Maanya since she joined this school.

My daughter is an active child. She has shown remarkable growth in public speaking since she joined the school. I credit her school for nurturing her holistic development and preparing her for a bright future.

What is the best thing about this school?

I am totally satisfied with the school as they provide a unique type of exposure to its students which might be missing in other institutes. Apeejay believes in providing opportunities for every child to grow which is commendable. The child learns mostly from the school environment; there could be no better environment for Maanya than this school. Can you imagine a class I student anchoring the assembly? It’s a remarkable achievement for me as well as my daughter. Her personality has developed drastically.

Is she active in any extracurricular activities?

Yes. She is keen on exploring advents in dance and singing. She also actively participates in regular functions held at the school.

Are PTMs held regularly?

Yes, parent-teacher meetings are held regularly. I have never missed any single PTM. I remain closely associated with my daughter’s progress at school. The teachers always have positive feedback for her. This is encouraging.

Any specific thing that the school uses and you love that?

The school intends to stick to the basics of learning and teaching. It’s always better to help kids understand what is being taught than just rote learning. Teachers here give attention to every child. The school provides overall development for the kids rather than just relying on studies, and that’s the highlight of Apeejay School, specifically of this branch.

What tactics do you follow to encourage your daughter to study at home?

Why is there any need to motivate your child, when the teachers have already encouraged them enough to study at their own pace? Maanya is always keen to study and explore new things. She loves to read with me. That’s how I encourage her to keep on learning new things whether it be at home or play.

How do you spend quality time with your daughter?

Post my office hours, all my time is for the family. I also never bring office work home. We play together, we watch cartoons together, and we even go on ice-cream outings.

What is your parenting mantra?

You need to participate in something rather than just aiming to win. Winning is the icing on the cake; participation is the most valuable thing.
